I am short of blood

I am a 25 -year old female Civil Servant.  I have been feeling dizzy for the past few weeks. The doctor who attended to me said that I am short of blood. Despite the blood tablets I was given, I am still feeling dizzy. Kindly let me know what to do?

Shortage of blood (Anemia) is a medical condition in which the red blood cell count or the haemoglobin is less than normal. The normal level of hemoglobin is generally different in males and females. These definitions may vary slightly depending on the source and the laboratory reference used. Anemia is caused essentially through two basic pathways. Anemia is caused by either: a decrease in the production of red blood cells or hemoglobin, or an increase in the loss or destruction of red blood cells. Although these causes could vary from poor nutrition to some underlying blood and bone marrow diseases, the only way to know the actual cause of your problem is through a proper medical examination  and laboratory tests.
