The award billed to hold on July 27, 2018 will celebrate and appreciate individuals and agencies who have set a mark in the Nigerian maritime industry in the year 2017.
This individuals and agencies whose actions and inaction shaped the maritime industry in 2017, will also bag awards of recognition over their value addition philosophy that has impacted positively on the growth and development of the Nigerian economy.
The award, which is the first of its kind, will witness the gathering of MD/CEO’s of leading maritime agencies, outstanding maritime practitioners and ship-owner’s and leading freight forwarding and clearing agents in the country.
The theme for this year’s award, ‘ANMA 2018; Positioning The Maritime Sector For Challenges of Global Competitiveness’ was carefully selected based on the evolving nature of the Nigerian maritime sector since the ports were concessioned in 2006.
In the words of the organisers of the awards, “With a coastal state of about 853 kilometers Atlantic coastline, and an Exclusive Economic Zone (EEZ) covering a total area of approximately 315,950 square kilometers, including a vast network of navigable and potentially navigable rivers, lakes and creeks, which traverses more than 3000 kilometers of inland waterways; much credence should be given to individuals and agencies who have been saddled with the responsibility to manage this enormous and vast national resources.”
