The residents of Dindima in Bauchi Local Government Area and Mainamaji in Alkaleri LGA trooped out in their numbers on Friday to express their appreciation to the State Governor, Sen Bala Abdulkadir Mohammed, as he flagged off the full rehabilitation of the 29 km road in the area.
The road, which leads to the famous Yankari Park, stretches from Dindima to Yashi, ending in Mainamaji and touches several other settlements along the way, thereby linking the two neighborhoods of Alkaleri and Bauchi LGAs.
The communities commended the Governor for embarking on the project, which they had expected for a long time, considering the hardship they were enduring due to the dilapidated condition of the road. The last rehabilitation was done during the administration of former Governor Ahmadu Adamu Muazu.
While speaking during the flagging off, the Governor stated that his administration decided to embark on the complete rehabilitation project to alleviate the suffering of communities in rural areas. He emphasized the importance of enabling them to transport their agricultural products to the markets to improve the standard of living and boost economic growth and development.
Governor Bala Mohammad urged the people of Bauchi State to continue supporting the administration as it makes efforts to address the poor road network facing various communities across the state.
In his remarks, the Works and Transport Commissioner, Hon Ibrahim Gambo Galadima, emphasized the importance of the road, considering that it leads to Yankari Games Reserve and Safari, which tourists visit from across the globe.
A representative of the construction company, Triacta Ng Ltd., assured the Governor of the quality execution of the project according to the specifications. However, he solicited the cooperation and support of the community members to facilitate the smooth execution of the project.
Stakeholders from the local government areas, led by Danladi Mai’auduga, Yakubu Hashimu Kumbala, Hon Danlami Ahmed Kawule, Hon Maiwada Bello, members representing Zungur/ Galambi/ Miri and Duguri /Gwana in the state House of Assembly, Hon Saidu Yusuf and Hon Abdullahi Dan respectively, appreciated Governor Bala Mohammed for unbundling the areas and pledged unalloyed loyalty and continued support.

The Chairman, Caretaker Committee of Alkaleri LGA, Comr Bala Ibrahim, and his counterpart in Bauchi LGA, Hon Zainab Baban Takko, in their separate remarks, emphasized the road’s strategic importance for economic growth and development and pledged their support to ensure the success of the project.
The Emir of Bauchi, Alh Rilwanu Sulaiman Adamu, expressed gratitude in a vote of thanks, stating that the entire community in the Bauchi Emirate would remain grateful to the Governor for implementing high-quality development projects for the good of all.
