It is not enough to have traditional rulers in various parts of our country. They must understand that they have key roles to play in ensuring that our democracy is made to grow.
Usually, it has become a norm to find many of our traditional rulers-dress in loud attires and go about in flamboyant convoys. While royalty is good, the worth of every traditional rulers goes beyond this. They are enthroned to fastrack development among their people and foster good governance at their level.
Face your Brexit impasse, APC tells UK, US, EU, others
Unfortunately today, many of our traditional rulers have left the essence of their calling and have only been pushed to do yje biding of politicians. The partisan posture of many traditional rulers has become very worrisome. They go about in endorsing politicians and thereby widening the already cracked wall of our togetherness.
Our traditional rulers must stop getting deeply involved in politics and rule as they should. Traditional rulers should know they are fathers of all and should maintain very neutral positions on issues that tend to divide rather than unite us.
To extend this, the killings in the North could have been reduced if our traditional rulers have been living toexpectation. They have very serious roles to play in the de-radicalisation of many terrorists who lived and grew in their domain. They are fathers and they must perform their roles as such.
