A 26-year-old trader, Alabi Adesina, on Wednesday appeared before an Okitipupa Chief Magistrates’ Court in Ondo State for allegedly hitting his colleague with a stick.
The defendant, whose address is unknown, is standing trial on a two-count charge bordering on assault and malicious damage.

The Prosecutor, Insp. Ayodeji Omoyeigha told the court that the defendant on May 14 at 1.00 p.m. at Ayeka Junction in Okitipupa Magisterial District assaulted Dayo Ikulomehin by hitting him on the head with a stick, which injured him.
Omoyeigha said that the defendant also smashed the Itel camera phone of the complainant on the floor over an undisclosed argument between them.
He said that the offences contravened Sections 355 and 451, Criminal Code, Cap.37, Vol.1, Laws of Ondo State 2006.
The defendant pleaded not guilty to the charges levelled against him.
The Chief Magistrate, Mr Dickson Ogunfuyi, admitted the defendant to N100,000 bail and a surety in like sum with evidence of a year tax clearance paid to the state government.
He adjourned the case until July 31 for further hearing.
