Tinubu’s appointments are constitutional, budgeting prudent — APC youth group to Ndume

The APC Youth Network Worldwide has strongly condemned recent remarks by Senator Ali Ndume, describing his criticism of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu’s appointments and spending of borrowed funds as reckless, misleading, and unbecoming of a senior lawmaker.

In a statement released after a strategy meeting in Abuja on Thursday, the group expressed disappointment over Ndume’s claim that the Tinubu administration was mismanaging borrowed funds and flouting constitutional provisions on federal character.

The group’s Coordinator, Abubakar Gidado, described the senator’s remarks as factually inaccurate and a deliberate attempt to erode public trust in the administration.

“We find Senator Ndume’s comments unfortunate and disgraceful, especially from someone who has benefited immensely from the APC government,” Gidado said. “His remarks don’t reflect the reality of this administration’s budget reforms.”

He added that President Tinubu’s budgeting process has been transparent and reform-driven, noting efforts to reduce recurrent expenditure and focus on capital projects.

“This administration is committed to fiscal prudence — something Senator Ndume conveniently ignores in his emotional outbursts,” he added.

The group further noted that the president has ensured balanced representation in key appointments across regions.

“The president has appointed Nigerians from all regions into strategic roles in ministries and agencies. If Ndume is stuck in the past, he should catch up and stop misleading the public with outdated claims.”

Accusing the senator of courting controversy, the group urged him to focus on legislative duties rather than “grandstanding” on national television.

“We will not allow political actors to distort the government’s achievements just to serve their personal agenda,” Gidado said.

He called on President Tinubu to stay focused and ignore voices that seek to derail his administration with baseless accusations.
