Gombe State Governor, Muhammadu Inuwa Yahaya  has declared that there is no alternative to peace and harmony therefore there should be unity of purpose among the Muslim Ummah in the state and between them and non- Muslims alike.

The Governor who was Speaking at the commissioning of a Jummaat mosque, Umar Bin Kattab Mosque, shortly after the Friday prayers, urged the worshippers to intensify prayers for Allah’s intervention on the rising insecurity bedeviling the Northern region and Nigeria at large.

Inuwa Yahaya who joined Senator Muhammadu Danjuma Goje to commission a mosque built by the former Governor in Shongo Idrisa Village, a community in Akko local government area of the state stressed the importance of peaceful coexistence among the people saying that it is only by doing so that government will be able to do the needful in terms of infrastructure development.

He then lauded Senator Muhammad Danjuma Goje over the multi million Naira humanitarian projects he has been executing  within his senatorial district and beyond which he said have direct bearings on the life of the common man in the state.

The Governor also assured the community that, very soon the area will witness the commencement of some projects in line with his campaign promise and the developmental agenda of his administration.

In his remarks, Senator Muhammad Danjuma Goje said that the construction of Mosques in communities across his constituency and beyond was borne out of his desire to contribute his quota in promoting Islam for reward in the hereafter.

He appreciated Almighty Allah for giving him the opportunity to do the charitable act that he believes will earn him reward in the sight of Allah.

Danjuma Goje thanked Governor Inuwa Yahaya for honouring him with his presence at the mosque commissioning, recalling the key role the Governor played as his Commissioner of Finance during his administration in making the construction of the ultra modern Bubayero Central Mosque in Gombe a reality as well as in many other endeavours.

The Senator also thanked Islamic scholars who supported his course and encouraged him over the years and other stakeholders who in one way or the other contributed in making the mosque project a success.

The former Governor then tasked the benefitting community to take ownership by ensuring adequate maintenance and close supervision of the place of worship.

The National Chairman of Jama’atu Izalatil Bid’ah wa iqamatissunnah, (JIBWIS),  Sheikh Abdullahi Bala Lau who led the Jumaat prayer to flag-off the masjid, described Senator Danjuma Goje as a committed Muslim that is conscious of his religion and the hereafter.

The Islamic Cleric said that, “Senator Danjuma Goje should be a role model for many wealthy people that want to invest in their religion for a better hereafter by engaging in such beneficial projects.”

Bala Lau added that, “Allah Has promised building a befitting House in Paradise for anyone who builds a mosque for him and Senator Muhammadu Danjuma Goje has built many Mosques aside from the ones he either influenced or directly built in other places such as the famous Bubayero Central mosque at the Emir’s palace in Gombe.”

He stressed that, “What we build in this world is only for this world like our house but there is a great reward to build a masjid; when we donate to build a mosque, we earn a house in Jannah. It is stated in many ahadees that the one who builds a masjid Allah will build a house for him in Jannah.”

Other speakers at the event, commended Sen Danjuma Goje for his act of benevolence and called on other well to do individuals in the society to emulate him.

The event was attended by Government functionaries, traditional rulers, religious leaders and a large crowd of well wishers who came from far and near to witness the commissioning event as contained in a statement by Ismaila Uba Misilli, Director-General, (Press Affairs), Government House.
