This matter is by the decree of the watchers, and the demand by the word of the holy ones: to the intent that the living may know that the most High ruleth in the kingdom of men–Daniel 4:17.
THIS has been a week of blood. On Monday, Fulani terrorists murdered an Ogbomoso, Oyo State-based pastor, Segun Adegboyega, on his farm located at Gege village on Ogbomoso-Iseyin road. Fortunately, they were apprehended by the townspeople and taken to the palace of the Soun of Ogbomoso, from which they were taken to the Owode Police headquarters. On Thursday morning, 15 bodies were recovered in Ugboju community in Agatu LG of Benue State following a two-week onslaught on the area by the nomadic terrorists. More bodies are still being pulled from the desolation. On the same day, the terrorists invaded the palace of the Olukoro of Koro in Ekiti LG of Kwara State, Oba Peter Segun Aremu, killed him and kidnapped his wife and two others. On January 29, Fulani terrorists attacked three prominent kings in Oke-Ako and Ipoa Ekiti Road in Ayedun-Ekiti. They slaughtered the Elesun of Esun Ekiti, Oba David Ogunsakin, and the Onimojo of imojo Ekiti, Oba Olatunde Olusola, while the Alara of Ara Ekiti, Oba Adebayo Fatoba, narrowly escaped. The terrorists are currently in the jungles of Ekiti, torturing pupils and teachers of the Apostolic School, Emure-Ekiti, and demanding N10 million for each captive.
The herders’ resume is blood-laden. Between 2010 and 2016, they launched 466 terrorist attacks and caused 3,068 deaths across West-Africa. They were named the fourth deadliest terrorist group in the world by the Global Terrorism Index in 2014. That year, they killed more than 1,200 people. The blood merchants were behind 72 percent of terror-related deaths in Nigeria in 2018, with the toll put at 1,159. In 2019, they cut down 325 souls. These blood-thirsty demons were consistently defended by the Muhammadu Buhari government as they committed pogroms across Nigeria from 2015-2023. The Almighty God will ask questions.
Among other acts of provocation, these criminals abducted a 77-year-old traditional ruler, Oba Olu Falae, on his farm in Akure, Ondo State on September, 21, 2015, demanding N100m ransom. They raped women across Enugu State in 2016, with men divorcing their violated wives; and, in August 2017, gang-raped a grandmother, Victoria Akinseye, while she worked on her farm in Ore, Ondo State. Said the victim, who I use here to represent hundreds of others: “They held my neck. I couldn’t ask for help. They tore my clothes and took turns to rape me.” In October of the same year, two Fulani herdsmen, Umar and Musa Ali, were arrested in Nasarawa State for raping a 14-year-old girl at Tudun Lambaga in the Eggon Hills area. Can we ever forget the terror attack by Fulani terrorists on Benue communities on New Year Day, 2018, during which killed over a hundred persons, out of whom the Benue State government buried 73 in a mass grave? On January 6, 2018, the criminals killed 55 villagers in Lau Local Government Area of Taraba State.
On June 2, 2012, the blood merchants staged a pogrom in Ebonyi State, killing 50 people in Odoka Ishieke, Obakota Ishieke and Ndiobàsi Ishieke communities. Corpses lay in the bushes, from where policemen and health workers ferried them to town. Four days later, the killers invaded Igangan community in Ibarapa North LG of Oyo State, butchering many people and burning down houses, shops, a petrol station and the palace of the traditional ruler. They had stormed the town in vehicles and motorcycles, brandishing AK-47 rifles, machine guns, axes and machetes. Agents of the Nigerian State would later attack the residence of Sunday Igboho, a Yoruba nation agitator protesting the killings, shedding blood at will and even abducting his cats!
In his essay, “The Changing Geography of Terror: Why is Jihadist Terrorism Escalating Southward in Nigeria,” a writer, John Sunday Ojo observes: “On June 5, 2022, an attack which claimed more than 40 lives and injured 56 congregants was carried out during a Pentecostal service at the St. Francis Catholic Church in Owo, Southwest Nigeria. This recent mass killing demonstrated the expanding geography of terror into southern Nigeria and the contagious nature of terrorism in a formerly peaceful region.” Regarding the killers’ belligerence, Ojo adds: “Fulani nomadic herders opposed a bill prohibiting open grazing advanced by the southern region. To show their grievances against such policy, Fulani herders have attacked several remote villages in the southern region.”
The killers have state sympathy: in February 2021, Benue governor, Samuel Ortom, challenged his Bauchi State counterpart, Bala Mohammed, to tell Nigerians the section of Nigeria’s constitution that permitted herders to carry AK-47 guns. Ortom was reacting to Mohammed’s stout defence of the blood merchants. But I have news for these terrorists today: they are about to face the wrath of Almighty God in a way that will shake this country to its foundations. For years, they have raped and butchered people across the land, led by their father Lucifer. But Nigerian communities, from the North to the South, will rise against them in ways that will make the #ENDSARS crisis a mere joke. Since the terrorists have called for war, shedding blood for ages, the oppressed communities are going to seize their weapons’ sources and kill them with such ferocity that even the international organizations that have deplored their (the herders’) atrocities will shudder, and the killers’ ethnic identity will become a byword. To think that herders will keep killing people for an eternity is to be locked in Plateau’s cave: there will be reprisals that no uniform-wearing enabler of terrorism will be able to confront. I say this by divine insight: the judgment of the so-called herders who have filled the land with blood is just around the corner and, by the way, there is no terrorist anywhere that has any power over my life. My life is in the hands of Almighty God, and who can take it?
If not that we are ruled by lunatics, these killers who levy warfare on innocent people as a vocation should have been exterminated long ago. It is my sincere prayer that their children will become orphans, and that they will be wiped out in the most gruesome manner possible under the sun. They have made an open declaration of war for ages but there is coming a national onslaught by other ethnic groups that will make them to despair of life. For those who prefer to sneer and snicker, I proclaim: “This matter is by the decree of the watchers, and the demand by the word of the holy ones: to the intent that the living may know that the most High ruleth in the kingdom of men.”
