The Senator representing Plateau South Senatorial District of Plateau State who is also a member Senate Committee on Finance, Simon Bako Lalong has expressed optimism that Nigeria’s economy will experience a boost when the tax reform bills kick in.
Senator Lalong who joined other members of the Committee at a retreat held at the Zuma Resort in Niger State said the bills which are under scrutiny will ensure that the nation’s tax resources are properly harnessed and distributed for effective usage.

Chairman of the Finance Committee Senator Sani Musa said the retreat became necessary for the Senators to have a queit place to reflect and study the bills closely with a view to not only understanding the contents, but pointing out any areas that need to be addressed during the consideration.
He said experts were invited to give the Legislators diverse views on the bills and also help them check every item to ensure that the interests of Nigerians are captured.
