A renowned preacher of the gospel and local government health worker, Mr. Ishaya Mading, is dead.
A family source and son of the deceased, Dr. David Ishaya, the immediate past Taraba State Commissioner for Agriculture and Natural Resources, announced the sad event on Friday evening.
According to the former commissioner, the late gospel preacher died on Tuesday, March 4, 2025, after a brief illness.
“On behalf of the Kassa Community of Yorro Local Government, Taraba State, I wish to announce the passing of my father, a renowned preacher of the gospel and a local government health worker, the late Ishaya Mading.

“Mading died on Tuesday, March 4, 2025, after a brief illness. His death marks the end of an era for us and the Koking community, where he was widely respected for his leadership, humility, and dedication to the well-being of his people.
“The gospel preacher was born on October 9, 1940, and dedicated his life to service in both religious and public sectors.
“He attended the Christian Religious Instructor (CRI) program before proceeding to Kakulu Bible School, now Kakulu Theological Seminary, in 1972, where he deepened his theological education.
“He began his career as an evangelist, preaching the gospel and working to uplift his community spiritually.
“He later transitioned into public service as a local government health worker in Yorro Local Government Area, where he contributed significantly to grassroots healthcare delivery.
“His commitment to community development earned him the position of village head of Koking in Kassa Chiefdom, Yorro Local Government, a role he held until his departure to his Creator,” the deceased’s son, announced.
