SOKOTO State government is set to constitute a committee to review the salaries of traditional rulers in the state.
Governor Aminu Waziri Tambuwal announced this Thursday while receiving Sultan Muhammad Saad Abubakar who paid him a Sallah courtesy call at government house Sokoto.
The Governor said that the decision is part of the government efforts to make traditional rulers contented in their various domains.
Tambuwal while thanking the Sultan for his effective leadership role in the country, assured of his continuous respect to the traditional institutions.
He, therefore, expressed gratitude to the District heads, community leaders and religious leaders for their support to the administration since its inception.
Speaking earlier, Sultan Muhammad Saad Abubakar thanked Governor Tambuwal for always consulting traditional rulers on matters concerning their communities.
The president general supreme council for Islamic affairs appealed to the leaders to bury their political differences and unite for the common good of the people.
Alh Muhammad Sa’ad Abubakar while appealing to the state government to continue with its development strides said soon, the government would be contacted on the need to sermon a summit of critical stakeholders to deliberate on the challenges confronting the state with a view to addressing them.
