Suleja Local Government Area of Niger has voted N377 million to build 100 housing units for its workers, according to its chairman, Alhaji Shuaibu Maje.
Maje told the News Agency of Nigeria (NAN), on Wednesday in Suleja, that the houses would be given to the civil servants on an owner-occupier basis.
He said that a 30-hectared piece of land had been cleared for the project with the road network already mapped out.
Maje said that the local government would collaborate with Northern Project Limited, a construction outfit, to carry out the project.
“We also intend to build a primary school and provide other social amenities in the estate,” he said.
