The Emir of Dutse in Jigawa State, Alhaji Muhammad Hameem Nuhu, has turbaned Alhaji Abubakar Sule Lamido as the Kaigaman Dutse and District Head of Bamaina in the Birninkudu Local Government Area of the state.
Presenting a letter of appointment after the turbaning ceremony held at his palace in a colourful event, His Royal Highness, Alhaji Muhammad Hameem Nuhu, charged the new district head to use his religious and modern education to maintain and improve peace and development in his district and among his people.
The Emir stated that Lamido’s appointment and posting to Bamaina followed recommendations from the Emirate Council and approval by the governor, Malam Umar Namadi, based on his good character, commitment, and contributions to the people of the district, the Dutse Emirate, and the palace.
Speaking through the Senior Councillor of the Emirate and Galadima of Dutse, Alhaji Basiru Muhammad Sunusi, the Emir said: “Apart from inheriting the position, your care and concern for this palace, the Emirate, and the Bamaina district were added advantages that earned you this honour.”
HRH Muhammad Hameem Nuhu emphasised, “This palace and the Emirate are confident in your ability to serve your district, Birninkudu Local Government Area, and Jigawa State to the best of your capacity.”
The Emir further directed Alhaji Abubakar Sule Lamido to be fair and just in all his actions, particularly in his dealings with those under his care. He urged him to focus on proper Zakat collection and distribution, noting, “Proper Zakat collection and distribution increase peace and wealth for individuals, communities, and society in general.”
In his response, the new District Head of Bamaina and Kaigaman Dutse, Alhaji Abubakar Sule Lamido, expressed his gratitude to the Jigawa State Governor, Malam Umar Namadi, the Emir of Dutse, HRH Muhammad Hameem Nuhu, and members of the Dutse Emirate Council for finding him worthy of the position.
