IN its continued determination to build capacity for the travel, aviation and tourism sector of the Nigeria economy, the Stayup Aviation Institute of Technology (SUAIT) has trained new aviators.
The 28th edition of SUAIT graduation ceremony held at the Institute in Ibadan, recently produced new graduates in different fields, which include, Professional Pilot round school, Airport and Airline Operations, Cabin Crew Executive, Travel Agency Management and Tour and Airline ticketing
Speaking at the event, the Director of Studies, Mr Kenneth Anate Oudah who described the travel and aviation industry one of the most important sector in the travel world said SUAIT has continued to not only building capacity for the growing aviation sector but also sustaining the ace in connecting its graduates with international aviation institute to update and scale up them with further training.
We have been producing professional graduates for the Nigeria aviation work force among other international organisations with record to show in the past one decade and we will continue to support the aviation and travel sector through our innovative training trends.
“we have continue to expand our partnership bids with international aviation and travel organisations to practically diversify in our operations as an accredited aviation institute by working with our international partners in bring investment opportunities that will increase forex generation to Nigeria as well as create sustainable jobs for the value chain professionals in the travel and aviation industry.
“We are already in advance talk with our international partners in the US, Europe and the UAE among others to flag off some of the investment plans initiated to move the travel and aviation sector in Nigeria to the next level.”
While thanking the parents of the newly graduated students of SUAIT for supporting their children in building capacity for the aviation and travel sector, Captain Oudah said every step taken by the parents is a futuristic effort to advance and launch the latest aviators to the national and international aviation and travel management platform and opportunities.
Also, the Stayup Aviation Institute of Technology used the occasion to honour the Chief Correspondent, Travelpulse&MICE/Business of Nigerian Tribune, ‘Wale Olapade with Doctor of Philosophy in Travels and Tour Management among others for their support to the travel, tourism and aviation industry.
According to the Director of Studies who decorated and honoured selected media professional in travel advisory and reportage as well as other allied industry players said “the Doctor of Philosophy in Travel and Tour Management given to the Tribune man was a mark of recognition for his contribution in sound reporting and advisory role he has continue to play in the travel, tourism and aviation space, not only as a writer but also as a widely travel personality.
“We did not just pick him for the honourary PhD but his aces which are undisputable in travel reporting which has awarded him numerous travel accolades as a travel expert and writer are testimonies of facts on which he was honoured.
“The selection was carefully done and when we did the screening and narrow it down, Mr Wale Olapade of the Nigerian Tribune and Omololu Olumuyiwa of Travelscope magazine where the only two names that scaled the hurdles and they are the first to be conferred with honourary Doctor degrees of Philosophy in Travel and Tour Management by the institution.
Others who were also honoured with award of excellence are EreluAsa of Nigeria, Funmi Rotiba, Andrew Okungbuwa of Telegraph Newpapers, Femi Oke of Galileo S/West Nigeria and the Oguntoyes’ Twins.
