As the nation continues to battle with insecurity and economic downturn, women in Delta State, on Monday, had another round of prayer session for God’s intervention.
The prayer session, which came under the aegis of Women Arise, an annual programme organised by the wife of the state governor, Dame Edith Okowa, identified the enemy within as more dangerous than the one outside.
Convener of the prayer conference, Dame Okowa, said despite the antics of the devil and its cohorts, God Almighty has been so kind and faithful, urging the women not to despair in the face of the unfolding social and economic challenges.
She charged the people to have a change of heart, saying that prosperity for all Deltans could-be realised if people circumcise their hearts and give their lives to Jesus.
She also called on the women to shun greed, impatience, lust and other vices.
Mrs Okowa further commended Mrs Roli Uduaghan, who founded the programme 13 years ago.
Earlier, Lady Chineze Onya Odike had admonished the women after reading from the book of Ezekiel 22: 12-18 to subject themselves to the will of God.
Testimonies of God’s mercy were shared by some of the participants while the blowing of trumpets as a sign of victory brought the event to an end.
