Stakeholders in Sokoto State have called on members of the school-based management committee and their counterparts in the school management team to improve on their synergy for the betterment of the state.
This was part of the resolution reached during a one-day special town hall meeting organised by connected development, otherwise known as CODE, in conjunction with United States Agency for International Development.
Speaking in his opening remarks, the Director of Social Mobilization state universal basic education board, Kabiru Aliyu, commended participants for contributing their quota to the advancement of education in the state.
Represented by Suleiman Bin Musa, he also called on members of SBMC and SMT to fine-tune a proper way to encourage students, especially at the elementary level, on how to read.
The Director further called on women leaders across the 23 local governments area of the state to ensure they play their roles well by motivating students to attend school.
Speaking while presenting the report of updates on routine monitoring of school with issues and challenges identified, Dr Bashir Umar described the performance of primary school students as not too encouraging.
He challenged concerned stakeholders in the state to double their efforts by improving the standard of education in their wards.
He further advised parents to always align with every stakeholder by taking possession of the school and the teachers there.
