Popular Nigerian singer, Darlington Achakpo, also known as Speed Darlington, has been granted bail after being arraigned in court.
This development comes after Speed Darlington petitioned the Deputy Inspector General of Police to comply with a court order regarding his detention.
According to his lawyer, Deji Adeyanju, the bail application was successful, and they are now working to perfect the details.
“Police finally arraigns Speed Darlington in court.
“Bail application moved and granted. We are trying to perfect same,” Adeyanju wrote on X.

Speed Darlington was initially arrested in October 2024 for alleged defamation and cyberstalking against fellow singer, Burna Boy.
His counsel had emphasised that a court order issued in December 2024 directed the police to charge Speed Darlington within 48 hours or release him unconditionally.
