The chairman of the Senate ad hoc Committee on Mounting Humanitarian Crisis in the North-East, Senator Shehu Sani, on Thursday, called on President Muhammadu Buhari to dissolve the Presidential Advisory Committee Against Corruption (PACAC), headed by Professor ltse Sagay.
Sani told newsmen during a chat in Abuja that the president did not really need a forum of advisers on corruption to effectively fight corruption.
He disclosed that the suspension of Lawal, was a clear indication that the advisory committee, which had once defended the SGF, was not competent.
According to him, “President Muhammadu Buhari should, as a matter of urgency, dissolve his Presidential Advisory Council on Corruption. The senator, who is representing Kaduna South at the National Assembly, decried the humanitarian situation in the North-East, saying the zone “was made an industry where government officials and even non-governmental organisations profit from the suffering and the hardships of millions of victims.’’
