Senator representing Kaduna Central Senatorial District, Senator Uba Sani has donated a Car (Ford Galaxy) to the Nigeria Union of Journalists (NUJ), Kaduna State Council.
Making the donation on behalf of the Senator, the chief zonal constituency officer, Alh. Abubakar Rabiu said the Senator believes the gesture will hence the union to discharge its social responsibilities with ease.
Moreso, he said he was inspired that the chairman, Asmau made history as the first female journalist to emerge as state chairman as well as the first female chairperson in NorthWest.
According to Senator who recently declared his intention to contest for Governor in 2023 maintained that media is an important partner that could bring positive change in the society.
‘I want to use this opportunity to call on journalists to help the country in this trying moments of building an egalitarian society. You are a critical stakeholder in this quest, he added.
The donation which was done at the premises of the secretariat was witnessed by some immediate past executives of Chairman and many journalists from other chapels.
Responding, the chairman, Asmau Yawo thanked the lawmaker for the donation, saying on behalf of all the working journalists, I want to assure you that journalists will continue to do their best in the promotion of democratic ideals and good governance.
