Senator Istifanus leads PDP Appeal Committee on Ondo Guber primaries

The Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) has constituted the Ondo State 2020 Gubernatorial Primaries screening appeal committee to be chaired by Senator Istifanus Dung.

Senator Dung represents the people of (Plateau South) Senatorial District in the national assembly.

The party in a statement signed by the National Organizing Secretary Col. Austin Akobundu (rtd) said the appeal committee will seat on Monday to hear the appeal of those who were screened out by the Yakubu Dogara led screening committee.

The screening committee said two out of the nine aspirants failed to meet the criteria set by the National working committee which were used as screening tool by the committee, Dogara told the media Friday night when the committee finished it’s task of screening the Ondo State aspirant.

The statement signed by Akubundu reads: “The National Working Committee (NWC) of our great party, the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), has approved the nomination of the following party members to serve on the screening appeal panel.

Other members of the committee includes: Hon. Dayo Ogungbenro, Chief Austin Umahi, Chief Dan Orbih, Chief G.T. Kataps, and Hon. Theophilus Daka Shan,

Also on the list are: Sen Ibrahim Kazaure, Sen. Kola Balogun, Princess Dr. Bolanle Ogundiran and Hon. Rimamde Shawulu K.

Others include: Hon. Barr. Uzoma Abonta nwho will serve as secretary, Hajiya Hassana Dikko and Barr. Mrs Christine Akpan as members of the appeal committee.

The Panel is mandated to consider appeals arising from the screening of all Aspirants for the upcoming 2020 Governoship Election in Ondo State.

The exercise is scheduled for Monday at the NWC hall, Wadata Plaza the statement said.
