Senator representing Ondo North senatorial district, Senator Jide Ipinsagba, at the weekend, empowered 100 people from his constituents in his senatorial district in vocational training.
The lawmaker said the training was put together in conjunction with Cocoa Research Institute of Nigeria, (CRIN) and BOSDEB Global Investment Limited, as part of efforts to create employment opportunities for youths and women in the senatorial district.
While addressing the beneficiaries, Ipinsagba said the training is an economic tool put together to make constituents self-reliant, alleviating poverty and creating job opportunities.

“We sincerely believe those who participated in the trainings will be able to use it in their different trades. It will afford some to start a different trade on their own,”
Ipinsagba who was represented by his aide, Mr Olumide Abudu, said not everyone can be employed or get white-collar jobs but said people can be gainfully engaged, saying it is essential to get engaged in one craft, trade to stabilise oneself.
“I don’t think it is advisable to wait upon white-collar jobs that may not come as Government cannot engaged everyone either graduates or non-graduates.”
“It is wise to find something doing rather than becoming nuisance to the society.”
Senator Ipinsagba assured the people of the senatorial district that more dividends of democracy will be laid at their doorsteps in due course, assuring that he will continue to work for his people to justify the trust imposed on him through the ballots.
Three of the participants, Ayomide Abayomi, Adegoke Grace, and Sifau Jimoh expressed gratitude to Senator Ipinsagba for the empowerment gesture promising to make good use of the skills acquired in the training.
Abayomi said, “I want to confirm this that for the first time in the history of this senatorial district, we are enjoying the attention of out representative. In the last one year, he has empowered a number of people across the senatorial area”.
