I am a 39-year-old mother of two. I had my second child through CS in 2011. I got pregnant again in 2015 and delivered the baby through CS in 2016 but lost the baby immediately. I wish to know if it is safe to get pregnant again this year as I will like to have one more child. God bless you sir.

The most important deciding factor on the appropriateness or otherwise of getting pregnant again will be to know the reasons for your repeated CS. If the reason for your CS was just because you had a very big baby or was due to a previous CS, then you could go ahead and get pregnant again. However, if the CS was done for some health issues such as a severely displaced pelvic fracture, complex heart problems, high blood pressure requiring urgent delivery or an infection that could be passed to your baby during vaginal delivery — such as genital herpes or HIV, then getting pregnant again may not be a good idea. This is more so when repeated CS carry some risks which may not be worth taking after having two healthy children.
