Restructuring not solution to Nigeria’s problems, says cleric

Founder and pastor of Kingdom House of God Ministries International, Sweden, Christopher Abika has described as needless and unnecessary, calls for restructuring of Nigeria.

He opined that the solutions to the country woes lay in the citizenry having a shift of mindset toward skills acquisition and entrepreneurship.

“The church is trying but they could do more. They have to strengthen the faith of Nigerians, but they have to do more to nurture Nigerians to be good citizens,” he said.

He urged Nigerian leaders to have the fear of God, and be accountable to the people they led.

Abika said this while delivering his sermon as the guest pastor at a special service of the Living Waters Unlimited Church, Isolo, Lagos State, with the theme: How the Western World Used the Bible to Transform Their World.

According to him, what developed countries did to transform their societies was to tailor the education system towards skills acquisition, entrepreneurship and creativity, as it was through this, they witnessed wealth creation and societal transformation.

Also speaking, pastor of the church, Prosper Kanayo, also dismissed calls for restructuring, stressing that what Nigeria needed was to ensure transformation, undertake investment in vocational education, and engage reorientation among the citizenry, just as he attributed the problem of under development in the country to high level corruption.
