THE current hullabaloo in the polity of Nigeria is due to selective mode of probe and prosecution of looters, as well as tribalisation of appointments into core agencies and parastatals of government. If the anti-corruption war had been across board and appointments done on merit with respect to the best from all the geo-political zones, I doubt if anyone would be kicking.
Reps pass N30,000 minimum wage bill
By now, someone like me would be leading the second term campaign of Buhari in my area with my personal fund. Aside the aforementioned, I have nothing against President Muhammad Buhari. For the fact that there’s no more free money like it used to be for charlatans make me think more to use my brain for my own progress.
Economically, the president is suffering for the mistakes of all our leaders from independence including him, that abandoned cocoa, maize, rice, groundnut, cassava, bitumen and other agricultural produce to focus on the oil boom that is now a curse than blessing, turning Nigeria to a mono-economy nation.
When the price of oil crashes, Nigeria economy must crash and the value of Naira must derail. The Only Panacea is for us to go back to basics and restructure the country so that the system can work well and every region or state can develop at his own pace to bring back the early independent competition for development.
The current system breeds poverty, hunger, starvation and underdevelopment. A system that peg admissions to read law in University of Maiduguri at 120 but pegs that of University of Lagos at 270 cannot bring up any progressive development.
With restructuring, Governor Oluwarotimi Akeredolu would not be begging the Minister of Mines and Steels Development from Borno State for approval before he can explore the large deposit of bitumen in Ondo South Senatorial District of his state.
The Present system makes our leaders unaccountable to the electorates. The current system of order from Abuja will always breed dictatorship, anarchy and raw use of power from those we cannot hold accountable for their misconducts.
