AN elder, Alhaji Abubakar Alhassan of Abakpa, a surburb of Kaduna metropolis, has appealed to residents of area to desist from dumping any kind of rubbish in the only government primary school in the area as pupils are exposed to danger.
Speaking in an interview, Alhassan remarked that a school environment is expected to be clean for conducive learning but lamented that refuse dump in the school was an eyesore.
‘The rate at which all kinds of dirts and rubbish are being dumped, if we are not careful refuse would take over the whole school in no distant time.
He added that, ‘The health of our children is at risk as the outbreak of contagious diseases is imminent.
“Even those living around the school are not spared,” he stressed.
To this end, he called on the people of the area particularly those living around the school to desist from dumping any kind of rubbish in the school premises.
Alhassan, whose 10 children had passed through the school, called on the school authorities to lodge a formal complaint to the state government so that the agency concerned would come and evacuate the refuse.
