The House of Representatives is set to commence debate on the general principles of revenue administration and taxation, including the proposed Nigeria Revenue Service (Establishment) Bill and the Nigeria Tax Act.
The bills were transmitted by President Bola Tinubu to both chambers of the National Assembly.
Recall that Nigeria Governors’ Forum (NGF) and some Northern lawmakers have expressed stiff opposition against the proposed bills.

Confirming the status of the bills, Chairman, House Committee on Media and Public Affairs, Hon. Akin Rotimi said: “In keeping with our commitment to transparency, the House of Representatives is pleased to share the Order Paper for today’s plenary session, outlining key legislative activities.
“Here’s a quick breakdown of what’s on the agenda:
“Bills for Second Reading: Four major bills on revenue administration and taxation, including the proposed Nigeria Revenue Service (Establishment) Bill and the Nigeria Tax Act.
“Petitions and Motions: Consideration of public petitions and matters of urgent public importance.
“The full Order Paper is attached for reference. As always, the House remains committed to effective lawmaking and national development.”
