The Presidential Candidate of the Abundant Nigeria Renewal Party (ANRP), Mr Kolade Fasua, has advocated for an increase in the nation’s budget in order to address critical sectors and the needs of common people.
Fashua, who stated this while addressing his supporters and members of the party in Akure, Ondo state capital, described the reduction of the nation’s budget as a wrong development saying it was wrong for Nigeria to reduce its budget when the value of the nation’s currency is fallen and as inflation is on the rise.
Fashua, who called on youths across the nation to be ready to take over the mantle of leadership, saying the old men that are governing the country are bereft of ideas on how to tackle the challenges confronting the country and how to move the country forward.
“We have to rethink our budgeting system. It is the budget that drives the country. There is money in the country to increase the budget.
“It is strange that Nigeria is decreasing its budget when the value of the naira is decreasing and which is drastically reducing the purchasing power of Nigerians.

“We must target our budget towards critical areas including education, health and industrial development among others,” Fasua stated.
Fashua lamented over what he described as economic apartheid saying that the gap of inequality is getting wider day by day
He said it is time for the youth to take over the administration of the country because of the exposure acquired in the course of travelling all over the world.
He said: “We are clamouring for generational change. There is nothing that says youth cannot rule Nigeria. There is nothing new that the old people that are ruling us have to offer us again.
“The problem of Nigeria cannot wait till 2023 and whatever needed to be done must be done. There must be a change and which is the only permanent thing.”
