Bread making dates back to as early as the Stone Age but the process has gone through stages of refining to arrive at what we have today.
Different ingredients go into giving bread its unique appearance, colour and flavour. The basic ingredients for makingbread are flour and water.

Others include salt, fat, leavening agents (optional) like yeast and baking soda, herbs, vegetables, spices, seeds and so on.
Breadcan be made in a number of ways that don’t always require an oven.
The most popular types of flour used include rye, barley, corn, oats, spiked millet, and sorghum. They are normally combined with wheat to arrive at different varieties ofbread.
Although there are many more eaten around the world, the most common varieties in Nigeria are Agege bread, white bread and coconutbread.
