In his continuous efforts to provide relief and improve the welfare of citizens during the Ramadan, Gombe State Governor, Muhammadu Inuwa Yahaya has appointed committee members for the 2025 Ramadan palliative distribution committees across the state.
The Secretary to the State Government (SSG), Prof Ibrahim Abubakar Njodi, who conveyed the Governor’s approval on Friday, said that the development is aimed at ensuring smooth and effective distribution of the relief materials to support the residents during the holy month.

“The 2025 Ramadan Palliative Distribution Committees are composed as follows: State Coordinator: Rt. Hon. Abubakar Mohammed Luggerewo, Speaker of Gombe State House of Assembly.
“Local Government Coordinators include:Abdulkadir Mohammed Malle (Akko LGA); Col. Abdullahi Bello (Rtd) (Balanga LGA); Mohammed Saidu Mohamemd (Billiri LGA); Muhammad Gambo Magaji (Dukku LGA) and Mijinyawa Mohammed Tilde (Funakaye LGA).
“The rest are Barr. Sani A.A. Haruna (Gombe LGA); Abubakar Dantata (Kaltungo LGA); Engr. Usman Maijama’a (Kwami LGA); Salihu Baba Alkali (Nafada LGA); Hon. Binta Bello (Shongom LGA); Nasiru Mohammed Aliyu (Yamaltu/Deba LGA) while the Executive Secretary of SEMA serves as Secretary.
“Other Members of the Local Government Committee include: Hon. Commissioners/Special Advisers from all 11 Local Governments, Hon. Members of the State House of Assembly from the 11 Local Governments, Local Government Council Chairpersons, Representatives of Traditional Rulers.
“Also, 11 Local Government APC Chairmen, Senior Special Assistants II (Political and Community Engagement), Representatives of Civil Society Organizations (CSOs), Women’s Groups, Youth Groups, Persons with Disabilities, and Religious Groups (JNI) and Two Major Stakeholders from each LGA.
“The Ward Distribution Committees are also established, comprising: Ward Chairmen, Ward Councillors & Ward Coordinators, Representatives of Women’s and Youth Groups, Representatives of Traditional Institutions and Religious Groups, Representatives of NGOs/CSOs and two major stakeholders from each ward.
“Meanwhile, the formal inauguration of the committees will take place on Saturday, by 3:00 pm at the SSG’s Conference Hall, Government House,” he said.
