MUSLIMS in Gombe State has been called upon to pray fervently for the unity, peaceful coexistence and development of the State during this Islamic Holy month of Ramadan fast.
The call was made by the State Governor-elect, Muhammad Inuwa Yahaya in a goodwill message to mark the beginning of the Ramadan fast, stating that peace remains an important element and foundation of social growth and prosperity.

According to the message which was signed and made available to newsmen by Zubair Muhammad Umar, Director-General in the office of the Governor-elect, Alhaji Inuwa said, “for tranquillity to continue to reign amongst us, we all must make necessary sacrifice and take seriously the admonition of our religious leaders to uphold the bond of unity, good neighbourliness and compassion.”
He admonished the Muslim Ummah to always demonstrate in their lives, the spirit and ideals of Islam by living according to the tenets of the religion which promotes peace, kindness and obedience.
The statement reads, “the holy month of Ramadan avails the Muslim Ummah a golden opportunity for intensive prayers, spiritual rejuvenation and charity.”
Alhaji Inuwa then expressed the hope that they will take maximum advantage and benefit of the season by increasing their devotion, acts of kindness, generosity and support to one another in the spirit of Ramadan.
