The Emir of Minna in Niger State, Alhaji (Dr) Umaru Farouk Bahago has urged Nigerians to pray for an end to the country’s lingering security challenges and to embrace attitudinal change in their daily activities.
He made this appeal when he hosted the National Chairman of the Advocacy for Integrity and Rule of Law Initiatives, Alhaji Mohammed Ibrahim Gamawa, and other executives of the Initiative during a courtesy visit to his palace in Minna, the state capital.
The royal father emphasised that addressing moral decay in society requires the commitment of all patriotic citizens and well-meaning Nigerians, particularly the support of the political class.
He also urged the involvement of key stakeholders, such as traditional and religious leaders, the academia, private sector players, civil society groups, and youth associations, to help foster an egalitarian society.

He pledged the support and cooperation of the Minna Emirate Council to the Initiative’s activities, ensuring its success in fulfilling its mandate.
Earlier, the National Chairman of the Advocacy for Integrity and Rule of Law Initiatives, Alhaji Mohammed Ibrahim Gamawa, explained that the visit was to inform the Emir about the establishment and activities of the Initiative in Niger State.
He stated that the NGO was founded to rekindle patriotism and national cohesion among Nigerians and to assist in the fight against corruption and other social vices in the country.
Alhaji Gamawa, however, sought the support and cooperation of the Emirate Council to ensure the Initiative’s success in combating all forms of anti-social behavior among citizens.
The National Chairman expressed sympathy with the Emirate Council over the frequent attacks by bandits in nearly all the local government areas within the emirate, and he prayed for an end to the heinous acts perpetrated by suspected insurgent groups and armed bandits in the state.
Ibrahim Gamawa also offered condolences to the Emir over the loss of lives in the collapse of a mining pit in Galadiman Kogo, Shiroro LGA of the state, praying for eternal rest for those who perished.
Additionally, the Chairman expressed his condolences to Dr. Umar Farouk Bahago over the death of the former chairman of Chanchaga Local Government Council, the late Alhaji Yakubu Sallau, and prayed for God’s forgiveness for the deceased and for strength for the bereaved family and the emirate to bear the irreparable loss.
