Police rescue three kidnapped victims in Kwara

Kwara State Police command says it has rescued three kidnap victims that were reportedly abducted, on Monday.

The command recalled that three persons; one female and two males were kidnapped at Elefo farm in Tafatafa village in the Asa local government area of the state by four men in army camouflage at about 3:30 pm.

In a statement by the Police Public Relations Officer (PPRO), Okasanmi Ajayi, in Ilorin, on Thursday, he said that the victims; one Divine Favour ‘male’, one Tosin Arogundade ‘male’ and one Mariam Salihu ‘female, all of Elefo farm in Asa local government area, have all been rescued unhurt and released to their families through the collaborative effort of the police, vigilante, local hunters and the family of the victims.

“The Kwara State Police command wishes to update members of the public on the success recorded in the concerted efforts invested in the search and rescue of the kidnapped victims.

“We may recall that on the 23/8/2021, at about 330pm, information was received by the command about the abduction of three persons, one female and two males at Elefo farm in Tafatafa village by four men in army camouflage.

“The command is happy to inform the public that the victims, one Devine Favour ‘m’ one Tosin Arogundade ‘m’ and one Mariam Salihu ‘f’ all of Elefo farm in Asa Local government area have all been rescued unhurt and released to their families, through the collaborative effort of the police, vigilante, local hunters and the family of the victims.

“The command also wishes to assure the good people of Kwara of the Command’s readiness to confront and bring to their knees all forms of criminality in the state, while effort is in top gear to get the abducted 300 Level female student of Kwara State University (KWASU) rescued as we are closing in on the suspects.”
