The commissioner of police Mr Garba Buba Umar discloses this in a press conference at the command headquarter Awka, on Monday.
The CP said the Suspect belonged to internet fraudsters popularly known as “Yahoo Boys” who fraudulently obtain money under false pretence from innocent victims. He is also involved in using fake facebook account and impersonating prominent persons including that of His Excellency Governor Willie Obiano in order to defraud his victims and that the suspect is 30 years old from Delta State.
He uses the name of prominent personality including the name of Anambra state governor Chief Willie Obiano to fraud unsuspecting members of the public, especially heads of government establishments”, he explains.
The suspect was arrested by the police operatives attached to Special Anti-Robbery Squad Police on 9th July 2018 at the state capital Awka.

Other armed robbery and cultists suspect paraded during the conference including one Ojiakor Chike male aged 25yrs a notorious cultist and a robbery gang member from Umuezeawara in Ihiala LGA of Anambra State, who operate along Uli/Ihiala axis of the state. Other accomplices are Izuchukwu Ikueze male aged 25yrs, Nwabueze Ikwueze aged 27yrs, Chukwudi Obi aged 30yrs, Tochukwu Obi and Cheta Obi all males and members of Aiye and Vickings Confraternity.
And one Obi Benjamin male aged 72yrs of Umuoma Uli, a local Arm manufacturer and in whose possession the following arms were recovered One Berretta Pump Action Gun with No a 302-CAL 12, Eighty-Four (84) Assorted Single/Double Barrel Guns, Ten live cartridges and other working tools used in their service.
Other criminal suspects that conspired and robbed their victims one blessing Nwanni f along along Umumli Ihitte, Azia in Ihiala LGA, and Dr. Ojiakor Samuel Chukwudi of Gerald specialist hospital Okpuno both in Anambra state, are Uzeowulu male, aged 21yrs, Ifenna Anierobi male, aged 20yrs, Uzochukwu Chukeuewuzue male aged, 20yrs, Chukwujekwu Ogbuchi male aged, 20yrs, Nnalue Eke male aged 25yrs who voluntarily confessed to their crimes were also shown to the public.
The CP who call on the good people of Anambra State including parents and all residents in the State to cooperate and make the State safe and secure, said the action is in a continued efforts to further stem the tide of crimes and criminality to its barest minimum, and that the Command during the period under review took proactive steps which included but not limited to visibility policing, criminal mapping, intelligence-led policing, constant Raids of Black spots and criminal hideouts in accordance with the recent directives of the Inspector-General of Police IGP Ibrahim K. Idris.
At the end of the investigation, there will all be charged to court, he concluded.
