Police nab three suspects with human parts in Ogun

Three suspects are cooling their heels in the custody of the Ogun State Police Command over unlawful possession of human parts.

This was contained in a statement issued by CSP Omolola Odutola, the Command’s image maker, on Saturday, that the operatives of the Command through the SWAT unit, on April 22, acted on intelligence and arrested one Sunday Akintobi.

The suspect was arrested for allegedly trading in human parts, while further investigation led to the arrest of Oladimeji OLANIRAN and Isaiah Tijani.

Odutola said a search was carried out in the suspects’ various residences where body parts believed to be human remains were found.

It was also gathered that cerebral bones were also recovered from a church location along Abiola Way, Abeokuta.

The Commissioner of Police, CP Lanre Ogunlowo, directed the State Criminal Investigation Department (SCID) to conduct discreet investigation into the case to establish full involvement of the suspects in this heinous crime.

It said “As a friendly force, the Ogun State Police Command, urges the public to refrain from shielding criminal elements and to provide timely and credible information to security agencies. Such cooperation is crucial in curbing ritual killings and other violent crimes in the state.”
