Pensioners rejoice as Niger govt continues gratuity payments

The Nigeria Union of Pensioners, Niger state chapter, is now celebrating in a joyful mood as the state government, through the State Pension Board, continues with the payment of gratuities to retirees in the state.

A statement issued and signed by the Director General of the Board, Alhaji Nasiru Sa’idu Namaska, said the names of retirees for the 3rd batch will be pasted on Friday, 30th of August, and payment will commence on Monday, 2nd of September, 2024, simultaneously.

The DG thereby enjoined retirees to check for their names as of Friday, adding that any retiree who finds his or her name on the list should report to the state pension board to collect their checks from Monday, 2nd September 2024.

Sa’idu Namaska assured of the state governor’s readiness and desire to ensure that no retired personnel of the state is left unpaid.

He, however, appealed to the beneficiaries to be patient, assuring that sufficient funds have been set aside to offset the backlog of gratuities from 2003 to date.

Nasiru Namaska, however, appreciated the commitment and resilience of his staff in ensuring that the exercise was fruitful and successful.
