PDP calls for the IPAC election cancellation in Jigawa, threaten court action

THE Jigawa state chapter of the People Democratic Party (PDP) protested the conduct of the state’s branch of the Inter-Party Advisory Council (IPAC) election and called for the immediate cancellation of the election.

The People Democratic Party (PDP) rejected the process, conduct and the result of the IPAC state branch through the state PDP vice Chairman in charge of Jigawa central zone, Alhaji Aminu Nuhu Jahun threaten to a court action which described the election as “illegal, undemocratic and proud”

Reports from the state indicated that the most of the representatives of the registered political parties at the election venue where some other political parties join the PDP and rejected the process, conduct and the result of the election.

Among the political parties joined PDP opposed the council election includes All Progressive Grand Alliance (APGA) instantly protested and condemned the action and accused the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) for connivance in promoting illegality and proud.

Speaking to newsmen in protest at venue of the election the state PDP vice Chairman in charge of Jigawa central zone, Alhaji Aminu Nuhu Jahun said “we rejected this and we will take the matter up”.

According to him “we are going to consult our lawyers for possible challenging the process, conduct and the result of the said election”.

“it is our constitutional right to be informed as like any other member. And we have the right to contest in the election. I’m sure the ruling party is afraid of us be the most strong opposition and we can contest against them and win”, he emphases.

Alhaji Aminu Nuhu Jahun explained that “this is a crime proud. How can you take some one’s mandate without his acceptance? It means they stole our mandate and we will not allow it”.

Also speaking the state branch chairman of the All Progressive Grand Alliance (APGA) Alhaji Sardauna Yaro Yalleman said “there is serious illegality and malpractice on this election”.

According to him “I’m not been accredited and I did not voted because I did not accepts what they did”, he added that this is not an election because democratic process had been ignored”.

The Chairman of the ruling All Progressive Congress (APC), Alhaji Ado Sani Kiri emerged as the chairman position of the chairman of the council (IPAC).

While Shehu Ibrahim of ACD emerged as vice chairman and Comrade Mohd Jibril Abubakar of Labor Party (LP) emerged as secretary.
