Oyo Tech Hub, a technological non-profit organisation domiciled in Oyo town has concluded arrangement to hold a competition aimed at dicovering young tech stars and talents in Oyo State.
Sponsored by Honourable Oladotun Faozey Nurudeen, the competition is open to all tertiary institutions in Oyo State especially those in the computer science department. The competition is also open to individuals who are not in school or already left school so that they can participate and win prizes.
Oladotun, called on youths in Oyo State to take full advantage of the opportunities abound in the programme. Tagged: ‘Oyo Hackfest competion’, the programme scheduled to hold bewtween June 30 and July 2nd, 2023, according to Technology Manager, Oyo Tech Hub, Mr Ibukun Atoro, is targeted at supporting the dreams and aspirations of the young talents of building valuable 21st century standard products.
Atoro, further informed that:”Just the same way big tech players like around the world like Google, Facebook and Microsoft used coding contest which otherwise known as “hackathon” to fish out talented individuals, Oyo Tech Hub would be applying same standard metrics to measure competitors’ performance.
“What would likely be most valuable aspect of this wonderful competition would be when judges used their years of industrial experience to identify the best ideas (not necessarily the best coding skills at this point) that can further be invited into the sandbox programe for further incubation and funding.
“Oyo Tech Hub, as part of its post-hackathon effort will accommodate individuals or teams with the best ideas for further nurturing and possible funding.
“This means while the best coding skilled get immediate prizes after the hackathon, the best ideas also have a huge opportunity to triumph. Oyo Tech Hub, therefore, called on youth in Oyo State to sign up, submit their intention to participate and fight for a spot.”
