Oyo: Police read riot act to violators of anti-open grazing law

The Oyo State Police Command has read the riot act to the intending violators of the anti-open grazing law in the 33 local government areas of the state.

The Commissioner of Police, Johnson Adenola issued the threat in a sideline interview at the Stakeholders meeting at the Command Headquarters, Eleyele, Ibadan.

He said whoever is caught violating the anti-open grazing law in any part of the state would be prosecuted in accordance with the law.

“The Command has received so many reports of herders grazing on the farmers’ farmland. I want to use this medium to remind the public that the Command will vehemently and seriously implement the anti-open grazing law.

“We all have our rights. We should limit ourselves to wherever we are supposed to be. We will not encourage people to encroach on other people’s rights or destroy any other person’s property in the course of carrying out their duty

“Oyo state under my watch will not condone any act of lawlessness.”
