Oyo State Commandant of the Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps (NSCDC), Michael Adaralewa, has reiterated his command’s commitment to supporting the Nigeria Customs Service to meet its statutory obligations to the nation in curbing smuggling, while it also joins in preventing vandalism.
The Commandant stated this while receiving the new Customs Area Controller of Oyo/Osun Area Command, Babajide Jaiyeoba and his team on a familiarization tour, according to the civil defence Public Relations Officer, Oluwole Olusegun on Wednesday.
Adaralewa had said that in line with the commitment to curbing crime, maintaining peace and order, as well as protecting the civil population in the state, the visit by the Comptroller would strengthen the two sister agencies, give them the opportunity to discuss areas of common concerns and promote unity among their officers.
In his response, Comptroller Jaiyeoba commended the efforts of Oyo NSCDC, saying that he believed all security agents in uniform were one, no matter they belong individually.
He assured the Commandant of cooperation with the NSCDC to protect the lives and property of the civil population in the state.
