REPRESENTATIVE of the Oba of Benin, Oba Ewuare II, in Ibadan, Chief Godwin Edobor, and the Non-Indigene Associations of Ibadan, have called on the people of Oyo State to support the governor-elect, Engineer Seyi Makinde.
Chief Edobor, who is the patron of the Benin community in Ibadan and the non-indigenes associations of Ibadan, pledged the support of both members of the associations and the people of the State.
He expressed delight that a non-indigene woman had been able to produce the governor of the State.
He said: “We are happy that Seyi Makinde’s mother, who is our daughter, has been able to produce a governor in Oyo State. We pray to God to give him the wisdom and His fear to run the affairs of the State.

“We are peaceful and law-abiding. We are loyal to the government of the State.
“Ibadan had always been a peaceful place for non-indigenes. We appeal for the continued sustenance of the peace.”
The Obazuaghanmwen of Benin kingdom advised those who contested alongside Makinde not to regard themselves as losers but imbibe the spirit of sportsmanship and cooperate with the incoming governor.
