The Oyo State Government has reiterated its commitment to the development of the real estate sector, especially the provision of housing for both low and high-income earners across the 33 local government areas.
In line with this policy, the state has concluded all arrangements to host the maiden edition of the Real Estate Conference, which will showcase the state’s commitment, policies, and initiatives to develop the real estate sector.
The conference, according to the Special Adviser to the Governor on Housing and Urban Development, Hon. Akinsete Olakunle, will take place on December 4th, 2024, at the International Conference Centre, University of Ibadan, at 10 a.m.
He reiterated Governor Seyi Makinde’s commitment to informing stakeholders about the policies of his administration, aimed at exploring opportunities in real estate for rapid urbanization.
Hon. Akinsete, who disclosed that the conference is being held in collaboration with the Real Estate Developers Association of Nigeria, described the event as “Positioning and Globalization of Oyo State’s Real Estate Sector: Road to Urbanization” and “The Necessity of Working in Concurrence with the State’s Vision and Master Plan.”

The Special Adviser further explained that the objectives of the conference include bringing together stakeholders, experts, and policymakers in the real estate sector to discuss innovative solutions, explore opportunities, and chart a course for the future of Oyo State’s real estate industry.
He noted that highlights of the event will include keynote addresses by renowned industry experts, panel discussions on topical issues such as affordable housing, infrastructure development, and investment opportunities, as well as an exhibition of ongoing and proposed real estate projects in Oyo State.
Other highlights will include networking sessions for developers, investors, and policymakers, as well as the launch of innovative initiatives to boost the state’s real estate sector.
Speaking on the importance of the conference, Hon. Akinsete stated that participants will gain insights into Oyo State’s real estate market trends and opportunities, network with industry leaders, policymakers, and potential investors, stay updated on government policies and initiatives supporting real estate growth, and showcase projects and services to a targeted audience.
