The Publicity Secretary of the APC, Oyo State, Abdul Azeez Olatunde, made this known in a press report he signed titled “Rejoinder to Barr Adebayo Shittu’s Gaffe.” The report stated that the Oyo APC had been observing Shittu’scomments on the party and his threats not to support the gubernatorial candidate of the party.
According to the report, Oyo APC believes that Shittu’s contribution to the electoral victory of APC and the emergence of President MuhammaduBuhari in 2015 was not traceable beyond his thirty minutes appearance in the public rally held at Mapo Hall, Ibadan, adding that he was the greatest beneficiary of the party’s victory as he was appointed a minister.
The Oyo APC challenged Shittu to list his poll record in 2007 and 2011 in his polling units, ward and local government against his opponents for the public to know whether he is an asset or liability to the party.
“It was common knowledge that his two elections were colossal failure. So, this threat not to support Adelabu lacks condiment of substance,”the report read.
The report also stated that Shittu was expected to know that, Oyo APC did not screen him and that “we are aghast at his transferred aggression.”
