“The act of humanity lies in the heart of giving. It is a timeless principle hovering in the fabric of every culture. The Bible captures it in Proverbs 11:25. Likewise the Holy Quran in Suratul Barka verse 274.Â
Â
“Prophet Muhammad s.a.w said, ‘putting a smile in the face of your brother is charity’. The traditional religion also prioritises given. It says the hand of a giver is perpetually on top. Generosity not only blesses others but also enriches the giver. Given is not merely about material things, it encompasses time, efforts, knowledge and compassion.Â
Â
“The nation Nigeria and as Africans we are very communal in nature. We like to do things together. Imagine what we could accomplish if we unite as a community, through collective action, we hold the power to not just momentarily uplift people but re-write their entire story.Â
Â
“The power of giving amplified through collective action is a force capable of transforming not only individual lives but the entire society.”

Â
“In spite of my 30 years in the Army, I am always very wary when I’m invited to Lions Club events because I wouldn’t be too sure what will happen there, but my confidence has been reinforced with Yomex being the president that I can walk amongst the lions now confidently.”
Â
“I want to congratulate the Lions Club for entrusting the leadership of the club to Adegoke. We crossed paths when he was a student union leader. Although he was a troublesome union leader, he was objective about what he was doing with his leadership and that’s what made me to identify with him and I believe in him.”Â
Â
“I’m not surprised that those traits that I saw in him from the beginning are what you’ve identified and make you to make him the president. I can assure you you have one of the finest presidents in the history of the club. I want to wish you well in this journey.”

“Wherever you feel there is a need for a kind of support, you know where to see me anytime, any day. I must also express my gratitude to the club for finding me worthy of this honour you gave to me. I didn’t know it was going to happen.Â
Â
“Nigeria needs a type of club which you run. A purposeful one that stands to uplift human beings. So, let other clubs emulate your good stride. You can rest assured that we will always be there to support a good cause because you are helping humanity.”
