Osun cleric urges wealthy individuals to help less privileged citizens

The Arch-Deacon of Inisha Arch-Deaconry and Vicar of St Peters Anglican Church, Inisha, Osun State, Venerable Ojelade Williams, has appealed to wealthy individuals with enormous resources in society to invest in social welfare programmes for the betterment of the less endowed citizens.

The cleric appealed at the installation ceremony of the Chairman and CEO of Glister Success Ltd., Engineer (Chief) Bamidele Babatunde, as Otunba Mayegun of Inisha in Inisha, Odo-Otin local government area of the state.

Venerable Ojelade, in his speech obtained by our reporter on Wednesday, remarked that there was a need for wealthy Nigerians to attach importance to giving back to society and reaching out to the needy, underprivileged, and vulnerable groups in their respective communities and the country as a whole.

According to him, “contributing to the well-being and improvement of their respective communities and touching lives positively would come with numerous advantages that include alleviating people’s suffering and giving young people who may have previously been relegated to the background”

“Their contributions could have as well encouraged the needed ones to pursue their goals and ambitions in life while also helping to reduce the burden on government.”

Speaking at the ceremony, the Olunisha of Inishaland, Oba Joseph Oladunjoye Oyedele Fashikun ll, described the newly installed chief as a capable personality with impeccable dignified characteristics.

He, however, said he was considered for the position because he was the best choice for it.

In his own remark, the President of the Inisha Descendants Union, Pastor Bayo Dahunsi, described honouring Chief Bamidele with a chieftaincy title by the community as a well-embraced one.

He described him as an efficient and dedicated personality with charisma that could add more value to the advancement of the town.
