Opposition plotting to upturn our victory in Yenagoa — APGA

The All Progressive Grand Alliance (APGA) has advised opposition parties agitating against the declaration of Mr. Waikumo Amakoromo as the lawmaker-elect for Yenagoa constituency 2 to desist from their plot to upturn his victory.

In a statement issued in Yenagoa, the state chairman of APGA, Hon. Brisibe Kpodoh, described Amakoromo’s emergence as the choice of the peace-loving people of Gbarain/Ekpetiama Kingdoms who came out enthusiastically to elect who they want as representative for the next four years in the state assembly irrespective of party affiliation.

Hon. Kpodoh described the actions of the opposition and their attempt to upturn the victory of the party by causing disunity, spreading hatred and promoting violence amongst the people as selfish interest and pursuit.

Kpodoh said, “we are therefore calling on traditional rulers of the various communities, our two respected Royal Majesties and political elites across Yenagoa Constituency 2 to call those who are making the attempt to cause disunity, hatred and violence amongst us to order for their selfish interest and pursuit.

“The voice of the people were heard and their votes were well counted to have put an end to geriatrics who have kept us aground. The mandate of the people cannot be taken by force. People said they don’t want you anymore so let them be and leave them in peace!

“Political position is not your private company. You can assign yourself to helm the affairs till you decide when you should retire! Let others take charge while you aim for something higher and bigger, other than deliberately refusing and preventing the younger ones from growing politically, socially and economically, which is the hallmark of leadership ineptitude!”
