Barely 24 hours after a commercial bus that rammed into a faulty trailer killed three persons along Enugu-Awka expressway at Amasea, Awka, another accident at Igwe Orizu junction Nnewi, Anambra State has claimed one life.
Nigerian Tribune gathered that a motorcycle was hit by a tipper driven by an unknown driver.
The FRSC spokesperson in the state, Pascal A. Anigbo, who confirmed the incident to newsmen in Awka, on Sunday, said the fatal road crash involving a Mercedes-Benz tipper and one Yamaha Mate90 motorcycle both without registration numbers occurred at about 12.05 pm in Sunday at Igwe Orizu junction, along Nnewi-Otolo Road, Nnewi, Anambra State.

He said a total of three people where involved in the crash, all male adults. One died and one sustained injuries. The injured victim was taken to Nnamdi Azikiwe Teaching Hospital, Nnewi while the dead was deposited at Akwudo mortuary by FRSC rescue team from Nnewi Unit Command.
“Nobody could get the registration number of the tipper at the time of the incident,” he added.
While consoling the family of the dead, the state sector commandant, Mr Andrew A. Kumapayi, reiterated the importance of using crash helmet by motorcyclists.
He advised all motorists to always drive and ride defensively.
