In most families in the country, people are doing their best to carry on with life. The recession has had a profoundly negative effect on the day-to-day activities of Nigerians.
The question whether recession is still in or out of the country cannot be answered until the factors which caused it are dealt with.
Some of the signs of recession are job losses and unemployment. Job losses affect the stability of families and individuals.
If people continue to look for jobs but do not get any, this can lead to frustration and depression .
Because of the recession, many parents have not been able to cater for their children properly.
They borrow money from families or friends and take to the low-paying jobs, yet they can barely afford to feed their children.
Recession destroys family cohesion, which can take a very long time to amend. I would say that Nigeria is still in recession because things are not going well for the people.
Salaries of workers in various states have not been paid for about seven months now. Many families have had to change schools for their children and cancel vacations.
