OLD breed politicians have been accused of fanning embers of disunity among Nigerians putting into consideration their utterances which are said to be heating up the polity thereby creating acrimonious living among the people.
The accusation was made by the Vice Presidential Candidate of the Alliance for New Nigeria (ANN), Hajiya Khadija Abdullahi Iya who opined that without unity and peace, the country will not move forward.
Khadija Abdullahi Iya who was speaking on Wednesday in Bauchi during a town hall meeting with youths and women in the state to solicit for their votes in the general elections lamented that for the past 58 years since independence, Nigerians have been voting along religious, regional and ethnic sentiments which she pointed out has led to the emergence of bad leaders for the nation.

The Vice Presidential candidate also said that if elected, she and her Presidential candidate, Fela Durotoye would foster unity among the compatriots as well as address abject poverty faced by the citizenry.
She further said that her party is concerned about the problems of Almajiri in the North foretelling that Children’s population in the country will reach 84 million, hence the need for government to come up with programs that could improve their lives in order to make them responsible members of the society.
While also speaking, one of the party Presidential Campaign Coordinators in Bauchi State, Abubakar A. Adam berated President Muhammadu Buhari for calling Nigerian youths lazy sometime ago alleging that it is bad governance that brought about youth restiveness and idleness.
He appealed to the ANN Presidential candidate to motivate and empower productive citizens, craftsmen and women to fully attain their potentials if elected into office in February.
