The Executive Committee and members of the Oke-Ogun Council of Elders (OCE) have commended Governor Seyi Makinde for the achievement he has recorded in the state particularly in the Oke-Ogun area since he assumed office about four years ago.
The group gave the commendation in a statement signed by its president and secretary, Joseph Oladele and Tunde Adigun respectively.
While congratulating Makinde on his re-election for another four-year term as the governor of Oyo State, the group further said: “It is not an overstatement to assert that the leadership style of your Excellency characterized by fairness, equity and justice in bringing dividends of democracy to every nook on March 18 during the gubernatorial election.”
The people also lauded Governor Makinde for fulfilling his made with Oke-Ogun people, saying, “When the council paid you a courtesy call on September 18, 2019, led by Chief Bamidele Dada, your Excellency assured us that better attention would be given to the development of Oke-Ogun like any other region of the state and you proved yourself to be a man of integrity when you kept to your words beyond our imagination.
You not only fixed Moniya-Iseyin road, caused a campus of LAUTECH to be moved to Oke-Ogun, complete the dualisation of Saki road, opened up Oke-Ogun to Ogbomoso through the construction of Iseyin-Ogbomoso road, gave a facelift to the former OYSADEP headquarters, to mention just a few within four years.
“Without mincing words, your administration is on the right path of returning Oyo State to its old glory.
“While we are not relenting in our prayers for continuous successes, we plead that the admirable virtues of hard work, focus, dedication, fair play and honesty of purpose in the conduct of affairs which were the hallmarks of your administration in the first term be continued unabated in the second term,” the statement said.
