A support group of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) governorship candidate, Mr Seyi Makinde, Omituntun Initiative in the Diaspora (OID), has congratulated his emergence as the governor-elect through an overwhelming victory in the just concluded Oyo State gubernatorial election.
The group described Makinde’s victory as a new dawn, new era and fresh start in Oyo State, just as it acknowledged the commitment of the people of Oyo State in ensuring a landslide victory of which made Makinde’s candidature to set an uncommon record in the history of Oyo State election.
In a release signed by the convener of the group, Mr Moses Eledan and the chairman, Professor D. K. Shangodoyin, OID also commended the support of all its members on their discretionary efforts towards making the victory a reality.
“We say a big thank you and you will forever be remembered for your contribution towards this historical and defining moment in the restoration of democratic excellence and good governance to our dear Pacesetter State. Indeed, this sis a divine intervention and we will forever be grateful to God. We congratulate our governor-elect, Mr Seyi Makinde and we are confident that we his capable to restore the glory of the state through an accountable governance,” it added.
